Behaviour

Introduction

No one can be a perfect parent.

There are lots of possible reasons for difficult behaviour in toddlers and young children. Often, it’s just because they’re tired, hungry, overexcited, frustrated or bored. If concerning behaviour is causing you or your child distress, or upsetting the rest of the family, it’s important to deal with it.

You are more than just a parent, you are a role model too!

As your child is developing their independence, they need routines and boundaries to help them feel safe and secure. Routines can bring you and your child closer together and reduce power struggles. Stable routines allow babies and toddlers to anticipate what will happen next. This gives young children confidence, and a sense of control, such as when parents say: “It is bedtime.”
