Sleep

Introduction

Sleep is an essential building block for your child’s mental and physical health. While children and young people are sleeping their bodies are growing and repairing. Sleep is as important as nutrition and exercise for your child/young person.

Sleep is a time of separation, babies gradually learn how to manage this separation and will take cues from their environment, learning from those around them. Routines are calming especially for babies and young children creating a feeling of comfort and safety.
