Children 12+ years

If you are a young person living in South Tyneside, there are adults that you can ask for help from when your life becomes tricky.

Asking for help can sometimes be hard, but you are not alone.

Everyone’s family life is different, and you will know best who you feel most comfortable talking to. This could be:

  • your family – parents or carers, siblings, grandparents, aunties, uncles, or cousins
  • trusted friends – your own friends, friends of the family, neighbours
  • Professionals – The Early Help Family Work Team, schoolteacher, GP, a social worker or a therapist, or GP, youth worker
  • A community group
  • A faith leader

In South Tyneside, we have a team called the Early Help Family Work team. We work with children, young people and the adults who are important to you. Our aim is to work with you all to make changes you want to make which might make your life easier.

These changes could be with school, home, your parent’s relationships and how they communicate with each other, your relationship with your parents and how you communicate together, or something just might not feel right.

If you feel that you would like to talk through support for you and your family, please give us a call on 0191 424 5210 or maybe speak to an adult you trust and ask them to help you.
