Little Inventors will be running a series of JOY LAB: Inventing for Happiness workshops in Family Hubs across South Tyneside, inviting children, parents and carers to explore their creativity together.
In these relaxed and playful sessions, families will take part in imaginative warm-up activities before coming up with their own invention ideas that could bring a moment of happiness to someone’s day.
Participants will draw and explain their inventions using simple idea sheets — showing that you don’t need to be good at drawing to be a great inventor.
The workshops are designed to be welcoming, informal and accessible for all ages, encouraging families to share ideas, laugh together and discover the joy of inventing.
Some of the invention ideas created through JOY LAB may later be brought to life by professional makers and showcased in a public exhibition celebrating creativity across the region.
JOY LAB is a project by Tomorrow Projects from the team behind Little Inventors, supported using public funding by Arts Council England, alongside South Tyneside Council, The Cultural Spring, and the University of Sunderland.
