South Tyneside Family Hubs is encouraging families to come together to celebrate Refugee Week between 16-22 June.

The theme of Refugee Week this year is ‘Community as a Superpower’, and we are hosting two events where everyone is invited to spend time with family and friends and build new connections in and beyond our neighbourhoods.

From All Saints Family Hub on 18 June to Hebburn Family Hub on 19 June, young people can dress up as their favourite superhero, receive their own book to take home and enjoy activities from Tiny Tweeties.

Asylum, Refugee and Migrant Community Integration Team Manager, Martine Horner, said: “We are excited to be celebrating Refugee Week, and it will be amazing to see people of all ages and backgrounds together within the community.

“We can begin the process of making community wherever we are. Communities can bring people together. Bridging divides and offering support.

“Community is a superpower.”

Join us for Refugee Week, 16–22 June 2025, and together let’s unleash the superpower of community.
